T. Rex 2.0
Description
About two years ago I already did a T. Rex model. But since it is cool, and I wanted something to track my progress in learning 3D Art, I did it again. It's always fun to do something again, to see improvement. 🙂
I started sculpting from a sphere in ZBrush, then I did the retopo in Maya. For the fine Details (the sacles), I sculpted planes with scales in ZBrush, then I exported them as Displacement Maps. I have projected these maps in Mari, and then finally applied the disp in ZBrush. This workflow has sped up the process emensive, and I can reuse my alphas for future projects.
The texture paint of the color sepc ect. was also done in Mari. I like using Mari for such high detailed models a lot because It can handle super high resolutions.
Then finally I built a simple rig in Maya for posing, to render the Images with Arnold. For the post-work, I have used Photoshop.
I hope you like it.
